Children First CEO Kansas Inc. (Children 1st) is a 501(c)(3) social service nonprofit organization in Wichita, Kansas, with a mission to support students to feel safe and empowered, so they can learn and thrive, by staying in school and achieving in life. We provide services in eight low-resourced neighborhoods, with two Garden to Kitchen Summer Camps (agriculture). The Children 1st Garden to Kitchen goal is to provide an applied science curriculum to a fresh food program to teach growing, harvesting, eating, and preserving fresh food with its benefits of increasing healthy behaviors, and prevention initiative against heart disease and diabetes, to low-income students (Pre-K through Middle School), their families and the neighbors. Camp offers a greater opportunity for deeper learning and summer fun!
